PRIVACY: The University Advancement Office collects information on behalf of 黑料吃瓜不打烊. Any information submitted by an individual to the University Advancement Office pursuant to the Contest and otherwise, including through an associated website or via email, may be used to update that individual’s record. Information gathered for the above purposes will be protected and used in compliance with Ontario's Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act. Individuals who submit information to The University Advancement Office in participation in the Contest acknowledge the above collection of their personal information for these purposes. 1. CONTEST: SCAN TO WIN! (the “Contest”) is conducted and sponsored by the 黑料吃瓜不打烊 Alumni Association (“LUAA”) and is administered by University Advancement (“Advancement Office”) at 黑料吃瓜不打烊 of Sudbury (“黑料吃瓜不打烊”). Subject to the eligibility rules in Section 2 below, the Contest is open to 黑料吃瓜不打烊 alumni who have graduated or will graduate as of November 2, 2024. By entering the Contest, all entrants consent to the personal information which is contained in their entry submissions being collected by 黑料吃瓜不打烊 for the purpose of operating the Contest.1. 2. ELIGIBILITY: The Contest is open to Canadian residents only, now including Quebec. To be eligible for the Contest, each entrant must have graduated from 黑料吃瓜不打烊 by November 2, 2024. To be considered a 黑料吃瓜不打烊 alumnus/a and an automatic member of LUAA an entrant must have completed a degree, diploma or certificate in a credit program at 黑料吃瓜不打烊. Notwithstanding anything to the contrary contained herein, employees, retirees and board members of 黑料吃瓜不打烊 and members of their immediate family (defined as a parent, sibling, child, or spouse, regardless of where they reside) or household, and any of their respective affiliates, agents, licensors, associates or representatives are not eligible for the Contest. All decisions regarding eligibility to enter the Contest will be determined by the Advancement Office in its sole discretion and it reserves the right to review and approve all Entry Submissions. The Contest is void where prohibited by law.

3. PRIZE DETAILS AND CHANCES OF WINNING: There is one (1) grand prize available to be won in the Contest. The chances of winning a prize will depend on the number of eligible entrants received in accordance with these Official Rules by the contest closing time. .  黑料吃瓜不打烊 reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to substitute the grand prize, with a substitute prize of $430.00 CDN including without limitation a cash or gift certificate award.

4. CONTEST SCHEDULE: The Contest commences on October 5, 2024 at approximately 12:00 pm EST and closes on November 29, 2024 at 11:59 pm EST. Entry submissions must be received via the contact update form on the 黑料吃瓜不打烊 Alumni website by 11:59 pm EST on November 29, 2024 in order to be eligible for the Contest.

5. HOW TO ENTER: No purchase is necessary to enter the Contest. Eligible entrants must complete the following:

a) Visit www.laurentian.ca/alumni

b) Click on the “Update Your Contact Information” button directing them to update their contact information

c) Enter their current contact information, including current personal address, personal email address and personal phone number, then submit.

An auto-generated email confirming entry into the Contest will be provided. There is a limit of one entry submission per person.

6. PRIZE DRAW DETAILS: All eligible entrant names will be entered into an online random selector on December 4, 2024, at approximately 11 am EST. The winner will be announced on December 6 at approximately 1 pm EST. If necessary, should a prize be unclaimed, or should the selected entrant be unwilling, unable or ineligible to win a prize as set out in these Official Rules, the prize will be forfeited and the Advancement Office shall have the right to draw, as a replacement, additional entry submission(s) until a valid winner is chosen. All determinations of the selected entrants and the winners by 黑料吃瓜不打烊 are final and binding. No communication with eligible entrants will be entered into except with the selected entrants. All matters related to the Contest and the verification of the eligibility of the selected entrants shall be conducted by the Advancement Office, or by persons designated by the Advancement Office in its sole and absolute discretion. All decisions made by the Advancement Office in this regard are final and binding and cannot be challenged.

7. NOTIFICATION: The Advancement Office will notify the selected entrants within 48 business hours of the draw via phone or email. If the selected entrant does not respond to the notification by December 13, 2024 at 12:00PM EST, the selected entrant is automatically disqualified and a new eligible entrant will be selected.

8. DECLARATION OF WINNER: The selected entrant will not be declared a winner of the Contest until the Advancement Office has determined that the selected entrant is eligible pursuant to these Official Rules. Prior to being declared a winner, the selected entrant must correctly answer without help, a time-limited, skill-testing question provided by the Advancement Office and the Advancement Office must further confirm that the selected entrant has complied with all requirements of these Official Rules and execute any document required by 黑料吃瓜不打烊 and/or the Advancement Office. Once the skill-testing question is answered correctly and the verification takes place, the selected entrant will be declared the winner.

9. ACCEPTANCE OF PRIZE: By accepting the Prize, the Winner grants The Advancement Office permission to use his/her name, photograph, likeness, voice, photo, and/or biographical information for publicity and promotional purposes without further compensation unless prohibited by law.

10. PARTICIPATION: Participation in the Contest constitutes an agreement by each participant to comply with these Official Rules.

11. DISQUALIFICATION: It is the participant’s responsibility to ensure that he/she has complied in full with all of the conditions and requirements contained in these Official Rules. If any participant or entry submission is found to be ineligible, or if an eligible entrant has not complied with these Official Rules or declines the prize for any reason prior to award, such eligible entrant or entry submission will be disqualified and, in University Advancement’s sole discretion, an alternate winner may be selected. No mechanically reproduced, illegible, incomplete, forged, software-generated or other automated multiple entries will be accepted. The Advancement Office reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who is found to be tampering or attempting to tamper with the entry process or the operation of the Contest; to be acting in violation of these Official Rules; or to be acting in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner, or with the intent to disrupt or undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest, or to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person. The Advancement Office reserves the right to seek damages and other remedies from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law. ATTENTION: ANY ATTEMPT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE OR TO UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE CONTEST MAY BE A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, LAURENTIAN RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK REMEDIES AND DAMAGES TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO CRIMINAL.

12. RELEASE AND INDEMNIFICATION: By entering the Contest, each participant: (a) releases and agrees to hold 黑料吃瓜不打烊 and its respective directors, officers, employees, and agents harmless from and against any and all costs, injuries, losses or damages of any kind, including, without limitation, bodily injury and property damage, or any other damage or loss, due in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, to participation in the Contest, any Contest-related activity, or from the acceptance, possession, use or misuse of any prize, or participation in any prize-related activity; and (b) agrees to fully indemnify 黑料吃瓜不打烊 and its respective directors, officers, employees, and agents from any and all claims on the part of any third party or parties related in any way and for any reason to the Contest or the prize including, without limitation, death, and personal or property damage or injury.

14. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY: 黑料吃瓜不打烊 assumes no responsibility or liability for incorrect, damaged, illegible, incomplete, mutilated, spoiled, destroyed, stolen, misplaced, lost, late, misdirected or incomplete entry submissions, which may be judged void, any notifications, responses, replies, or for any computer, telephone, hardware, software or technical malfunctions that may occur. 黑料吃瓜不打烊 assumes no responsibility for any theft or destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, entry submissions. 黑料吃瓜不打烊 is not responsible for any injury or damage to participants in the Contest.

15. PUBLICITY RELEASE: By entering the Contest, the winner hereby agrees and grants to 黑料吃瓜不打烊, without further compensation, the unrestricted rights, but not the obligation, to obtain photos, quotes and stories related to the prize for use in future promotional purposes in connection with the Contest, and any other promotions and programs, whatsoever, without further notice or compensation and hereby releases 黑料吃瓜不打烊 from any liability with respect thereto.

16. OFFICIAL RULES AND LAWS: These are the Official Rules (the “Official Rules”). The Contest is governed by and construed and enforced in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario and federal laws of Canada applicable therein and the parties hereby attorn to the jurisdiction of the courts of the Province of Ontario. Contest rules are subject to change without notice in order to comply with any applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws or the policy of any other entity having jurisdiction over 黑料吃瓜不打烊. These Official Rules, as amended from time to time, will be posted on the 黑料吃瓜不打烊 Alumni website.

17. CONSTRUCTION: The invalidity or unenforceability of any provision of these Official Rules shall not affect the validity or enforceability of any other provision. In the event that any provision is determined to be invalid or otherwise unenforceable or illegal, these Official Rules shall otherwise remain in effect and be construed in accordance with their terms as if the invalid or illegal provision were not contained in these Official Rules. Headings and captions are used in these Official Rules solely for ease of reference, and shall not be deemed to affect in any manner the meaning or intent of these Official Rules or any provision hereof. These Official Rules cannot be modified or amended in any way except in writing by a duly authorized representative of 黑料吃瓜不打烊.
