A micro-credential is a short program, typically 12 weeks or less, that is awarded for completing one or multiple micro-courses that are focused on a specific skill or competency. You will receive your micro-credential in the form of a certificate.
What is a Micro-Course?
Our micro-courses can be taken individually with no prerequisites required. If you see a micro-course that you are interested in, you can register for it!
Our micro-courses are short, accessible, flexible, and affordable learning opportunities. These courses are what you will be registering for when pursuing a micro-credential. They are between 10-45 hours of study in total and are delivered over a 6–12-week period. They contain clearly defined learning outcomes and objectives. Our online (asynchronous) offerings allow students the opportunity to learn at their own pace. Micro-courses may be offered as synchronous (live) in-person/online workshops or asynchronous (allows you to learn on your own schedule, within a certain timeframe) using an online learning management system. Additionally, in some cases, our micro-courses will be offered as a combination of both asynchronous and synchronous. Every one of our upcoming micro-course offerings will have their delivery method listed so that you can make an informed decision and choose the learning style that works best for you.
It is important to note that if you would like to earn a micro-credential you will need to complete the required micro-courses for that topic.
