The Doran Planetarium

An Interactive Planetarium in Northern Ontario (Fraser Building D-045)

The Doran Planetarium -- an outreach facility administrated by the?Faculty of Science, Engineering and Architecture --?offers?various astronomy presentations to educate and entertain groups of all ages. We are proud members of the International Planetarium Society and the Canadian Council of Science Centres.

On most days of the year, the Doran Planetarium is available upon request for demonstrations in English and French to students attending primary or secondary schools, as well as other interested groups.

Presentations/Shows

For the majority of the year, the Doran Planetarium is available upon request for presentations in English or French students, as well as other interested groups. We cover such topics as Stories of the Night Sky, Lives of Stars, Light and Astronomy, Gravity, Life in the Universe, Telescopes, Dark Matter and Dark Energy, and Cosmology. Organizers are weclome to customize shows based on the group's interests.

We also welcome school visits of all grades. Please contact the planetarium director to customize events based on cirriculum or student interest.

$2 per visitor; teachers, supervisors and the bus driver are admitted free with their group.

Planetarium shows are not recommended for children under 5 years of age.

Parking is available next to the Fraser Auditorium in Lot A (see map).
