Hello, Aanii, Bonjour,
On a sunny autumn afternoon of September 25, 1975, at the University of Sudbury, the Franco-Sudburian community gathered for the first time to raise a flag that was unknown at the time, but which represented all the greatest aspirations of Francophone Ontario. The Franco-Ontarian flag was born.
Whether it was draped around the shoulders of revellers at La nuit sur l'étang and the Franco-Ontarian Festival, or clenched in the fists of protesters agitating for SOS Montfort and the Resistance of 2018, the Franco-Ontarian communityOntario has made this great symbol a rallying point.
On the eve of the 45th anniversary of the Franco-Ontarian flag, as it becomes on an equal footing with the Ontario flag, I would like to acknowledge the vision of the Franco-Ontarian community, and the 黑料吃瓜不打烊 initiators of this legacy, which gave this great symbol of our community heart and soul.
The University of Sudbury and the ACFO du grand Sudbury will mark the occasion with a special surprise in honour of the flag’s founders. It will be unveiled on September 25 at 11:00 am during .
We invite you to be a part of this historic event!
Thank you, Miigwech, Merci
