Work Integrated Learning Coordinator, Faculty of Management

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Dean of the Faculty of Management the successful candidate will administer the co-op

placements and internships. The incumbent will continually build relationships with employers, community partners, teachers, media, etc., and assist in the strategic planning and development of the co-op programs and internship courses with Faculty, School Directors and the Dean (market research, marketing, etc.). The incumbent will initiate partnerships and represent the Faculty of Management at various functions.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Responsibility 1: Coordinate, Administer and Support the Work Integrated Learning Activities

  • Oversee all administrative duties associated with work-integrated learning (WIL) in the schools. Tasks include organizing, leading, supporting and monitoring all internship/placement components of WIL courses;
  • Identify and recruit the host employer and the host supervisor while verifying their suitability, and setting up the internship/placement;
  • Maintain relationships between the student, the professor, and the supervising manager of the student at the host organization. Tasks include recommending any necessary changes to student placements, handling correspondence and meeting with students as required providing them administrative counselling, creating/updating an internship/placement handbook, resolving non-academic problems, and assisting professors assigned to WIL courses for industry related projects;
  • Identify and disseminate internship and job postings to all School of Business Administration students and alumni; ?
  • Organize special events and activities such as promoting and setting up employment fairs for business students;
  • Coordinate with various units within 黑料吃瓜不打烊, such as Risk Management, Health & Safety, to ensure all reporting and paperwork/forms are up to date;
  • Coordinate all accreditation measures associated with WIL and soft skills development.? Tasks include integrating and updating the micro-credentials and soft-skills modules;
  • Assist with setting up the academic year calendar principally for placements and internships;
  • Collect, analyze, and file evaluative reports. Tasks include preparing reports and statistical summary reports;

Responsibility 2: Industry Relations

  • Maintain and develop relationships and partnerships with various industries, institutions, governmental agencies and not-for-profit organizations located locally, provincially, nationally and internationally;
  • Support industry relations and projects within the school;
  • Build and maintain a digital CRM platform to manage all relevant stakeholder data;
  • Develop and maintain a communication strategy for all stakeholders;
  • Provide assistance and guidance on the placement program, striving for good public relationships and carry out new initiatives;

Responsibility 3: Alumni Relations

  • Maintain alumni relations with all graduates; participate in any fundraising, mentorship programs, and other WIL related activities with alumni;

Responsibility 4: Marketing, Outreach and Recruitment

  • Organize various special event and activities such as promoting and organizing employment fairs for students and graduates of the School;
  • Participate in and lead student recruitment activities within the school as approved by the Director;
  • Represent the school in relevant committees; and
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in a business-related field is required;
  • A master’s degree in business is an asset;
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of managerial experience;
  • Managerial experience in an academic environment is an asset;
  • Previous experience and interest in work integrated learning is considered an asset;
  • Previous teaching and/or student mentoring experience is considered an asset;
  • Strong computer skills, including with word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software;
  • Strong communication and leadership skills;
  • Detail-oriented and possess strong organizational and time management skills; and
  • Ability to work fluently (verbal and written) in both official languages, French and English, is required.

The official University hours of operation shall be from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, during, and including, the months from September to April, and from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m Monday through Friday during and including May to August., amounting to thirty-three and three-quarter (33.75) hours per week.
