Chemical Pharmacognosy
This course will introduce students to pharmacognosy, the study of plant-derived medicinal products. In particular, several categories of natural products will be described, including the isolation of promising compounds, their structural modification for improved properties, and the characterization of their pharmacology. Finally, the design of clinical trials and strategies for drug commercialization will be reviewed. PREREQ: CHMI 2427 (lec 3) cr 3.
