Special Topics in Extractive Metallurgy
This course introduces the theory and practice of advanced process control techniques applied in chemical and other industries. It covers the concepts of linear time invariant multi-input multi-output systems (LTI MIMO), state space representations of processes, controllability and observability analysis, Lyapunov stability analysis, frequency-domain analysis and robust control. Practical topics including model predictive control and distributed parameter systems will also be discussed. (lec 3) cr 3
