Games and History

This course examines how games and play have been understood in historical society as well as how games rely upon and reshape a variety of histories. The course explores the rise of different types of games, considers the historical elements of gameplay, and investigates how video games in particular both reflect and challenge historical conventions. PREREQ: 18 university credits. (lec 3) cr 3.
