Indigenous in the City: an International Perspective
This course introduces Urban Indigenous Studies from an intercultural and international perspective. It investigates such issues as decolonization and reconciliation through surveying urban Indigenous community building, identity politics, Indigenous - Settler relations, the social service infrastructure, and urban Indigenous self-government in various countries (e.g. Canada, the United States, Australia, New Zealand, and Mexico). PREREQ: 18 university credits (Lec/Sem 3) cr 3.
