Wilderness Travel
This course introduces students to the principles of outdoor leadership applied to muti-day wilderness travel with particular emphasis on pre-trip planning, environmental ethics, and backcountry navigation and minimum impact camping techniques. Concepts and skills are introduced through presentations, demonstrations, and discussions; and they are reinforced through experiential learning on a rigorous multi-day wilderness expedition.
