Globalization and the New World Order

This course examines theories and practices which shape local and political contexts. Topics include post-industrial, post-Fordist, and postmodern society; patterns of economic restructuring and the state; global space; and systems of governance in a globalized world. PREREQ: SOCI 1015 or SOCI 2306; 6 credits of POLI at the 1000 level or POLI 2306; or permission of the department. (lec 3) cr 3. Cross-listed with POLI 3306. Students may not retain for both SOCI 3306 and either SOCI 2065, SOCI 3226, or POLI 3306.
